Colombia: Coffee, Birds and a Community Conservation Story
Dr. Amanda Rodewald, Director of Conservation Science, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, will take you for a visit with beloved species, such as Mourning and Cerulean Warblers and Summer Tanagers, on a Colombian coffee plantation. Learn how shade-grown coffee benefits not only neotropical migrants wintering in Central and South America, but also the communities that provide this important habitat. This media-rich presentation interweaves biological and economic research findings with stories about people and birds. Part of the Compelling Voices series at the PeggyNotebaertNatureMuseum, in partnership with the Chicago Ornithological Society and the Notebaert. The program is free and begins at 6:30 p.m. Cash bar and light refreshments at 6:00 p.m.
