Birds in Your Backyard

Goldfinch photo by Deb Plume

What do you know about birds in your neighborhood? Who is that visitor to your bird feeder? Is he a resident or just passing through? From your backyard to lake front parks, Chicago is home to many feathered delights and in the spring, many more stop by during migration.

We will offer some tips on identifying residents and visitors and learning more about their lives by enjoying their fascinating behavior. Some places to explore beyond your yard, tips on birdfeeder types and maintenance, and time for questions will be included.

Presentation by John Elliott, a retired Cook County Forest Preserve naturalist and member of the Chicago Audubon Society board.
